St. Patrick's Day

That's Jake there in the middle. He was in charge of the cooking - and he and his team did a marvelous job of it!

It takes a ton of carrots, potatoes, cabbage and corned beef to feed the 80+ folks who came for dinner! Bill, Daisy, Sandy, Peg and Ada are hard at work!

Bill is busy getting the table numbers drawn so we can eat.

The food was delicious!

Hugh and Kas enjoyed the evening.

The cake was yummy!

And we were all thrilled that Nancy came to the dinner 'cause three days earlier she had brain surgery. She looks great and is recovering beautifully!

Bocci Ball

Friday was "Bocci Ball Tournament" day. We had great participation and some pretty heavy precipitation as well.

Jim Firestone is the organizer of this event, and he does a great job!

And then the rains came!

and came again. But everyone hung in there!

Vera and Robert placed 4th.

Maria and Bob placed 3rd.

Art and Karma placed 2nd.

And the winners were Mary and Greg!!!!

Anna Marie Sommers

Ann passed away February 10, 2012. She was a devout Christian, a wonderful mom to five children, and a great friend and neighbor.

We will miss her encouragement, her sense of humor, her straightforward talk, and her kind words.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, bless His Holy Name, all that is within me.

Helen Has Moved

Our dear friend Helen has moved to Missouri to be near her family. She has moved in with her sister. Helen had lived in Griffwood for 41 years - longer than anyone else. She was kind to everyone. We all miss her terribly.

Great Breakfast

Great breakfast this morning! The guys outdid themselves. Thanks so much Bill, Greg, Jerry, Jerry, Ed and Norm! We had scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, sausage patties and links, grits and juice and coffee. Happens once a month November - April. Come on down and join us. You know you want to!
